Baton Rouge was clean, safe, and surprisingly quiet. We enjoyed walking around downtown, along the river, and trying out some local restaurants. But there was very little shopping or much activity to speak of for the days/nights we were there.

Home to us for 50+ yr. We were in the process of moving closer to our kids in GA. We will miss a BR. However, the city is on a downward tracjectory, in our opinion. Crime, pandhandlers, cars blasting loud music and street racing, etc.

Lots of traffic, similar to Lafayette. But I think the businesses in Baton Rogue have more hospitality and the area in general appears to be more diverse. There is a whole strip that is Asian centered, which is appreciated.

I wish the city and/or the state would invest a little more into fixing the roads. But otherwise people are very friendly and welcoming, and we had a great time visiting our son at LSU.

My niece lives here so she knows where to go and what to do. You definitely need transportation, not very walkable and public transportation is marginal.
"2nd time staying there this year and enjoyed my stay again. Room was clean and staff was amazing. Only grip would be the smaller pillows on the bed when it comes to the lenght of them. But the were extra fluffy and comfortable. Is in a good central location to alot of food, entertainment and shopping. "
"the woman who helped us at check in was so kind, had a great friendly smile! walmart and shopping and restaurants are right across the street-less than 3 minutes. rooms are clean."
"We only stayed one night. It is approximately the 1/2 way point between Pensacola back to Houston. When we got there the toilet was stopped up, staff just gave us a plunger. We had to request cleaning supplies. That is the only mishap during the stay. "

"Was there for a sporting event at LSU. Convenient location. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were amazing and helpful! The only complaint would be the temperature of the room. No matter how low we set the thermostat, it would stay between 74-76. "
"Breakfast was awesome with so many options to fit any diet. The staff keep everything hot and fresh. The bed was comfortable but there was not enough space on the left side between the wall and the bed. For me it was not a problem, but someone very large would be tight"
"This has to be one of my favorite, non resort, hotels in any state. Friendly staff, bartenders were awesome, room is spacious, clean, with great amenities. Will always go there when in town. "
"Such a quiet and relaxing stay. The room was very nice and the staff very courteous. What impressed me the most is that we left a garment bag with a week’s worth of clothing and it was held until we sent someone to pick it up for us considering we traveled from out of State. I can appreciate the staff’s professionalism and honesty considering I’ve left something behind at another hotel and didn’t get it back. "
